How to Make a Penguin Spoon Craft

This penguin spoon craft is really fun and easy to make. Use our printable template and a few simple supplies to make this adorable winter animal craft that doubles as a puppet!

Step 1: Find what you need

Gather your supplies and materials.

Step 2: Make the penguin body

Use our printable template to cut out the shapes from cardstock. Use black for the penguin body, orange for the beak, and yellow for the feet.

Gently fold the penguin, without creasing it too much, and cut on the line indicated on the template.

Then slide the spoon through the hole you just cut. The rounded back of the spoon should be facing out.

Step 3: Add details to the penguin

Add small dots of glue tape at the bottom of the penguin, on either side of the spoon, for the feet.

(Note: We found the glue taped feet and beak fell off easily when playing with them — so we recommend using tacky glue or hot glue to attach them.)

Then attach the cardstock feet horizontally into the glue tape.

Fold the orange beak in half and add glue tape along the fold line.

Place the beak so it’s just above the spoon and then attach the googly eyes above.

Our googly eyes are self-adhesive, but tacky glue or hot glue will work for regular ones.

Step 4: Make earmuffs for your penguin (optional)

To make earmuffs for your penguin, cut a piece of pipe cleaner about 2 inches long.

Bend the pipe cleaner piece into a curve and add a dot of hot glue to either end.

Set pom poms into the glue.

Add a dot of glue to the back of each pom pom. Then place them on the penguin’s head.

Your penguin spoon craft is complete!
